The mission of Faith Bible Church of Boerne, Texas is: The preaching of the Word of God to the mutual edification, instruction, and discipline of its members. The winning of the unsaved to Christ; helping young Christians to develop their spiritual life and spiritual gifts and instructing the children in the Word of God. To nurture spiritual growth through teaching and preaching the saving work of Christ on the cross and the sanctifying work of Christ on the throne of heaven; to provide a safe atmosphere in which believers can experience freedom in Christ and learn their identity and spiritual position in Christ.
We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man and the final authority for all Christian Faith and Life. (II Tim. 3:16,17)
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and Born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the Cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where at the right hand of His Majesty on high, He now is our High Priest and Advocate. (Luke 1:34,35; Romans 5:8; Luke 24:5,6; Hebrews 4:14,15)
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. He will guide and empower the believer for Godly living and service. (John 16:8)
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and by the indwelling Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Gen. 1:27; Romans 5:12, 10:9)
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. (Romans 10:9; Hebrews 9:22)
We believe in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (I Thes. 4:16,17,18; John 14:2,3)
We believe in the resurrection of the dead. The just and unjust shall be raised to life. "They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment." (John 5:28,29; II Cor. 5:10)
We believe that the True Church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. (Eph. 5:23; Col. 1:18; I Cor.12:27)
We believe that every believer is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ at the time of conversion and therefore is a member of the True Church. (I Cor. 12:12,13)
We use immersion as the Scriptural mode of Baptism and believe that only believers are fit subjects for this ordinance. (Acts 8:36-38)
We believe that the Communion Service, also known as the Lord's Supper, is a memorial service, setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ - that all true believers and only true believers should share in it. (I Cor. 11:23-28)
We are a church whose worship services are characterized by informality and simplicity. This is somewhat due to the fact that many of us have histories of "church burn out". I personally believe that God never intended His church to be complicated or so highly organized and active that it could become an end in itself. Jesus Christ is the reason we exist. Jesus Christ is to be the focus of our worship and service. When the structure and activity of the church becomes so great that it wearies its members, the result is religious activity with no heart. We, therefore, strive to keep our ministry and programs simple and informal.
We trust you will find this Web site both informative and inspirational. Please contact us with any questions or comments and join us as we allow Jesus to live through us.

The membership of this church body is patterned after the early church as described in the Book of Acts. As such, there is no official recorded church membership roll within this earthly body. Each person who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and is under the Scriptural authority of the Elders is a member of this Fellowship.
In April of 1998, Tom Lanier announced the establishment of Faith Bible Church of Boerne, Texas. Tom was ordained a Southern Baptist minister, graduated with a BA in Religion from Baylor University, and with a Master in Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1978. Over the years he served both Baptist and non-denominational churches in various capacities such as evangelist, youth minister, and pastor.
A native of San Antonio, Tom has always been in love with the Texas hill country. He and his wife, Dixie, live on a hilltop about five miles north of Boerne. They have five children and six grandchildren. Tom is a pilot and a builder. In the eighties he became a full-time contractor and built many homes in west Texas. When the real estate market crashed, he and Dixie began an aerial photography business in Missouri and in 1993 they moved to Boerne where they continued the photography business and began building a new home.
While teaching a Bible class in Boerne’s First Baptist Church, Tom began to sense God’s call back into full-time pastoral ministry. With about a dozen others, he and Dixie established Faith Bible Church, a non-denominational ministry. Faith Bible has been full of God’s blessing as many have come to experience the joy and freedom of knowing Jesus Christ.
Tom is also a writer and his weekly column “Prodigal’s Perspective,” can be found in the Friday edition of the Boerne Star. In addition his weekly radio broadcast on KDRY in San Antonio also called “Prodigal’s Perspective”, may be heard at 9:00 o ’ clock each Saturday morning by tuning to 1100 on the AM dial.
Dixie is a real estate broker and the owner of Boerne Homes and Land. She also owns and manages Boerne Mini Storage. An avid antique collector and dealer, her hobbies include painting and decorating. She grew up in a resort on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and attended college in Florida.
It is my privilege as pastor of Faith Bible Church of Boerne, Texas to welcome you and give you a brief history of our wonderful congregation.
In April of 1998, we held our first worship service. Dixie and I, together with about twelve others, met in the offices of the Boerne Mini Storage on IH 10. Our small congregation began to grow and in February of 1999, the church moved to the Boerne Community Center located at 820 Adler. Since then we have experienced a steady growth.
Our elder leadership has grown to include Jay Fankhauser, Roger Hestilow, Gaylan Schroeder, Jack Willome, Jim Truax and Garet Grosenbacher. Armando Garcia faithfully and enthusiastically leads as our worship and music and several fine musicians.
In addition to Sunday School classes for all ages, we periodically meet with adults on Wednesday evenings to pursue Biblical discipleship in depth.
The men of the church, as well as the ladies, come together at various times during the year for fellowship and Bible study.
Because of the faithful giving of our congregation, we are enabled to support several foreign missionary families and to aid individuals and families in times of crises.
From the first, we have been debt free. Sometimes folks ask if we are going to build our own church building. God may lead us to go in that direction in the future, but we believe our financial freedom enables us to concentrate more on ministry to people than might be possible if we were preoccupied with real estate ownership and maintenance.
Our worship services are characterized by informality and simplicity. This is somewhat due to the fact that many of us have histories of "church burn out." I personally believe that God never intended His church to be complicated or so highly organized and active that it could become an end in itself. Jesus Christ is the reason we exist. Jesus Christ is to be the focus of our worship and service. When the structure and activity of the church becomes so great that it wearies its members, the result is religious activity with no heart. We, therefore, strive to keep our ministry and programs simple and informal.
Please feel free to call me at the office (830 249-8448) or at home (830 537-5262) if I may be of assistance to you in your search for a church home.
Sincerely,
Tom L. Lanier, pastor
